KLINKERS 2008 - A CULTURAL SUMMER HAPPENING IN BRUGES
Klinkers 2008, 25 July till the 9 August 2008.
 Klinkers
has its reputation in Bruges that sounds like bells on the belfry.
It stands for a music festival, which is offered each summer outdoors,
for free, on the burg, astridpark, hallen, fishmarket, big market square, theatre square and in the court-yard
of the great seminary in the potterierei.
A cosmopolitan summer happening that gives his attention to quality,
atmosphere and enjoyment for a big audience. The most divergent
genres like Jamaican ska concerning rootsy soul from the states
and jazzy street funk from Canada to Mexican dramatic songs and
Napolitan tarantella.
We have four special concerts with limited public capacity Under
the title "klinkers Intimate" which aren't free of charge.
This year we have "Melingo"
with his Maldito Tango. Next to this, klinkers offers 3 other
great concerts like Rosapaeda, Bester Quartet and Manuel Linan Y Su Grupo Flamenco.

Leg Work is organized only once a year with a growing success.
The Bruges public, which clearly suffers from an inborn reserved
closeness, had the opportunity to express themselves in many different
dances socializing with its neighbors. This is a very special therapeutic
initiative, which should happen more often during the year so that
those high walls around the little Bruges premises would shrink.
Very classy was the Argentinean Tango in the Provincial court,
Salsa in the Astridpark, Muzette on the market square, tree ball in
the upper hall, streetdance stage at the library, Milky Way stage at the Burg, overflow stage on the fish market and the modern stage
on the theatre square.
More of this is definitely wanted!!
